Taffy Todd
1944 - 2009

I am sad to pass on the news that Taffy died peacefully in her sleep on the 28th April 2009.

A copy of her Obituary is below:

Taffy Todd died suddenly on Tuesday, April 28th after many years of ill health. She was born Alison Margrethe Stuart on May 11, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA, to Douglas Edmunds Stuart and Virginia Heide Stuart. She grew up in Philadelphia and Princeton, NJ, but Greensboro was always her true home, and she lived there from 1977 to her death.

Taffy was a warm, loving, smart and sassy woman with a great sense of humor and compassion for everyone. She loved books and movies and her family, she was a talented writer who䴜d recently completed her first manuscript and was starting on her second. Despite the many tragedies she suffered she managed to enrich the lives of all who knew her.

In recent years she䴜d been active in various writing groups and one of her proudest accomplishments was helping to bring Barack Obama to the White House.

Taffy attended Miss Zara䴜s School in Chestnut Hill, PA, Princeton High School in New Jersey and Carthage College in Kenosha Wisconsin, and married Frederic Ashton de Peyster Todd in 1967.

She was a descendant of Sen. George Edmunds of Vermont, and spent time compiling a genealogical history of her family.

She was predeceased by her father, her son, Stuart Todd, her brother, Dougal Stuart, and her daughter Jill Bereza Riley, and her beloved Bichon, Marlowe.

She leaves behind her lover, Bill Trainor, her daughter, Jennifer de Peyster Todd Taylor and son-in-law Paul, her mother, Virginia Heide Stuart, her grandson, Steven Riley, her sister, Anne (Krissie) Ohlrogge and Richie Ohlrogge, her nephew, Tim Ohlrogge, her niece, Kate Ohlrogge, her ex-husband Ted Todd and his wife Laura, Eric and Shannon Trainor, many beloved cousins and friends, and Mona, her Maltese.

A memorial service will be held at the United Church of Christ in Greensboro, VT on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to:
